Tips To Increase Google Plus Followers For Best Online Reputation

 Unknown     TRAFFIC TIPS     No comments

Even the most diehard social media enthusiast would agree that Google plus can never be half as much fun as Facebook or Twitter are. On the other hand, perhaps Pinterest and Instagram can be, in the near future.

While casual surfers can pick and choose the network they want to or enjoy the most, online entrepreneurs, bloggers and internet marketers cannot choose to ignore Google plus.

Since more G+ shares can improve your search engine rankings, generate traffic to your website and make your posts or articles more visible across Google search, it makes sense to work harder on increasing the number of Google plus followers.

“How to increase your Google plus followers” is a question, which would, therefore, be of interest to any person who works online for a living.

Here are a few quick tips which you must look into (if you have not done that so far) to improve your G+ presence:

1-Complete your G+ profile
While most of us do create a G+ profile, not many go-ahead and complete it by furnishing all the details like education, address, employers, adding a profile picture, etc.
Select the “Edit profile” to add all relevant details to your profile. Also, take care to furnish details of all websites and blogs to which you contribute regularly by adding to the “Contributor Section”. This is of utmost importance to claim your Google authorship.
2-Integrate G+ profile with other social networks
This will make your profile look more authentic and will thus help you attract more G+ followers in the end.
3-Follow other people
You are likely to be followed back by people whom you follow.
Look for people who share the same or similar interests as you and follow them. Besides the possibility of getting more followers, it will help you get more exposure in your chosen field.
4-Help other people
Merely creating a G+ profile and not working on it will get you nowhere. Spend a few minutes on your profile every day to help other people.
If you are, for instance, an affiliate marketer, look for people who have posted questions regarding Affiliate Marketing or are looking for information on that topic. Provide them meaningful information on that topic, so that they will want to follow you back.
5-Invite people to follow you
Add your Google plus profile link to your Author Bio, to your email signature and invite all friends and family to follow you on Google plus. It would be a good idea to place them in a different circle though, and not in the same circle as your business acquaintances or online contacts so that their profiles do not get spammed by your posts which do not interest them.
6-Add a Google Plus badge
Besides that, adding the Google plus badge to your blog or website really helps. You can add one by checking out on the widgets in your Dashboard. If you know how to place your “Facebook Like box” or “Follow me on Twitter” box, this should be easy for you.
7-Join Google plus communities
Share your posts, views, ideas and opinions with like-minded people by joining Google plus communities with similar or same interests as yours. You can even create your own community and invite people to join it.

At the end
Follow these simple tips and tricks to attract more followers on Google plus to build up a following for yourself. These tips will surely help you get more G+ followers.  I hope you enjoyed the topic.

5+ Practical Tips To Get Traffic From Google Plus

 Unknown     TRAFFIC TIPS     No comments

Social Media sites especially Facebook is one of my favorite sites that increase the traffic count to my blog. I really enjoy investing my time to share blog posts in Facebook groups, Facebook page and on my wall too because it helps me to connect with my targeted audience.

Today, I was reading some authority blogs and came to know about some amazing ways that can help bloggers to gain extra traffic to their blog posts using Google Plus. I am going to share those ways via this post. Hope you guys would like to know about them.

Readers love to read, comment and share attention grabbing posts. This is the real Mantra to drive massive traffic to the blog. We will apply the same mantra while sharing our blog posts on Google plus to attract maximum readers. Let’s see what is new today

1-Stylize Your Posts
During writing the posts, we use to highlight some text to grab readers’ attention. This thing not only make our blog posts attractive but also increase the readability. Then why not to apply the same strategy while sharing posts on Google plus.
We can apply some styles to our texts in below ways:
  1. Bold: Use asterisks sign (*) around the text to bold it. Bold your targeted keyword there. It’ll help you to grab viewer’s attention easily.
  2. Italics: Use underscores (_) around the words and italicize them easily to add more style.
  3. Strikeout: Suppose you are offering a product or discount coupon code, you can easily run a line through old offer (like 20% 30% discount) by putting hyphens (-) around that word or sentence to highlight new offers.
  4. Bullets: Bullets add more value to our content. We can also make use of bullets in our Google plus posts. Hit your space bar, enter a hyphen, and then hit your space bar again. It’ll work as bullets and you can use it to add lists to your post.
2-Share Images – Not Just the Links
Sharing blog post-URLs is the most common way to promote blog posts or to market the content. We have to do something unique and creative to attract more readers. While sharing your new posts on Google Plus, don’t just share some text and link. Use below pattern to increase viewer’s engagement.
  1. Put a Heading first and apply some formatting to it. Better to go with Bold.
  2. Add some text of two lines that better explain the post and generate curiosity to the audience to read what you have written.
  3. Give one line break and then place your blog post link.
  4. Now attach a high quality and attention-grabbing image with your post. It’ll surely help you to target the wider audience.
3-Choose Targeted Audience to Share
We simply can’t get the goals by targeting the wrong audience. You must be knowing who and where your targeted audience is. Google plus allows us to create different circles. So, the strategy is, create one circle and add your targeted audience in that particular circle.
Suppose you are writing about ON-Page SEO Techniques, then don’t share it with your family. By doing so, you can’t hit the goals. Better to share it with your targeted audience. Mostly people share their posts with Public and Your Circles.
I’m surprised why they don’t create more circles to target their blog audience. Build relationships with others having the interest in your niche. Add all of them into a specific circle and share your posts with them. I have created a circle named Blogger Tips Tricks and I always choose that circle to target my right audience.

4-Tick “Send Email” For More Attention
Why not use “Send Email” feature to get more attention of the readers. When you are ready to hit the share button, put a tick on “Send Email” check box. It will send an email to the people regarding the update and if your post will be of their interest then surely you’ll get the good number of clicks.
Note: No doubt sending emails is a smart step to get traffic from Google plus but also take care about the circle with which you are sharing your posts. Only send emails to right audience otherwise non-interesting people will get annoyed with your emails in their inbox and surely, they will mute you or in the worst case, unfollow you.

5-Target Google Plus Communities
If you are a member of communities on G+, then you can post into those communities directly from your profile, from within the communities itself and by using “Share” button at the bottom of your posts as well.
Click on the share button below your posts
and then select the communities in which you want to promote your blog posts
In this way, you can save a lot of your precious time that you can use to market your content on other places as well.

Interesting Tips:
  1. Use Hashtags in your G+ Posts. It will not only help you in targeting the wider audience, but your Google Plus followers will also increase with time.
  2. Create videos and upload them to Youtube. Add post link in the video description and share the videos on Google+. It has some great benefits.
  3. Respond to readers’ comment on your G+ post and tag them by simply putting a plus (+) sign in front of their name. It’ll increase readers’ engagement on your post and you’ll get maximum +1s, comments, and traffic.

At the end
Not only G+, but also all the social media sites are the great source of free and targeted traffic if we use them smartly. Early I hope you enjoyed the topic.

Tools, Tools Everywhere! Which SEO Tools Are Worth Your Time?

 Unknown     SEO     No comments

Ever wondered what tools are used by some of the best in the industry?

There are a huge number of search engine optimization (SEO) tools out there. Creating SEO tools has become a cottage industry, and there are many companies out there making their living by providing tools and data. It seems like a new tool gets launched almost weekly. So, how do you know which ones to use?
There are both free and paid tools, and you can spend a fortune every month licensing the paid ones. You can also spend a huge amount of time looking at these solutions, delving into reports, slicing and dicing the data they provide, and being overwhelmed by the sheer volume of data available, rather than working on the tasks that will actually improve your SEO and drive more organic traffic and conversions.
Which tools produce the best ROI for your time and money?

Some of my favorite SEO tools are below.

Free Tools
For those just starting out in search engine optimization, there are many excellent free tools available to you. Some of these are tools I would consider the basic necessities for any website, whether you’re doing online marketing or not.
1-Google Search Console
Never heard of the Google Search Console? That’s OK — neither had anyone else before May 20, 2015, when Google officially rebranded Google Webmaster Tools as “Google Search Console.”
Google Search Console is really the basic free tool you must be using. It provides a wide range of tools for diagnosing issues on your site, and it’s used by everyone — from those just starting to consider search engine optimization to the most experienced technical SEO auditors.
Google Search Console allows you to not only diagnose the problems on your site but also to report the actions you have taken to solve some of those problems directly to Google so there is a clearer understanding between you two. Although there have been some criticisms of the limits to the data they provide as far as both depth of data and the amount of time data is retained (90 days for search traffic data) Google continues to add new features to the search console.
Many of you will already be familiar with some of the data that Google provides such as back link data, country targeting, indexation levels, keywords, crawl errors, crawl statistics, sitemaps, etc. some of the newer features Google has added are: fetch as Google, mobile usability, and search analytics.
Fetch as Google. As Google has improved its ability to render the JavaScript and other technologies, there can be some confusion as to what parts of your page Google can see correctly and which it can’t. This feature allows you to submit your URL to see either the code or the content that users and Googlebot can see.
Mobile usability. As Google started taking the mobile usability into account toward a site’s mobile search rankings in April 2015, they began providing webmasters with data as to which of their pages were not mobile friendly and specific issues they had with each page.
Search analytics. This is the new version of Google’s “search traffic” report. It adds additional data to what they used to report and makes it more obvious as to how to segment the data. Much of this data (though not all, such as “search queries”) is also available through Google Analytics. Google now offers the ability to look at Google organic search traffic from the perspective of the query which drove the visit, organic landing pages, country of origin, devices, search type (web, image, and video), and date range (up to the 90 day max) and see that data in terms of clicks, impressions, click through rate, or average ranking position.
2-Bing Webmaster Tools
Most site owners and webmasters will already have Google Search Console (Google Webmaster Tools) set up and verified for their site. Yet many neglect Bing Webmaster Tools. This is definitely an oversight. Bing Webmaster Tools offers data on search traffic, site maps, keywords, links, URL parameters, crawl data, and robots.txt just like Google Webmaster Tools does but it also provides more in-depth SEO improvement recommendations than Google.
3-Screaming Frog
Due to the incredible amount of data you can access with Screaming Frog’s spidering tool, it should be considered indispensable for anyone examining the technical SEO for a site.Screaming Frog gives you a great deal of the data you need to do a technical audit of a website in one place. It gives you information such as duplicate content, server errors, canonical tags, meta robots tags, title tags, meta descriptions, and more. It also allows you to include or exclude URLs with specific strings of characters in them to either examine a very particular part of your site, or to keep the crawl manageable for very large sites.

While Screaming Frog offers a free option, that option limits the number of URLs you can crawl. If you do wish to purchase a license, you have basically an unlimited ability to crawl for only about $150 per year.
4-Google Analytics
Again, just as with the Google Search Console, Google Analytics is a really one of the most basic tools you should already be using to optimize your site. If you aren’t using Google Analytics, get it set up as soon as possible!
Google Analytics gives you some of the most useful data that you are ever going to get about your visitors and traffic sources. It lets you track the way users access your site, what pages they enter into, where they exit, and all of the sources that drive traffic to your website. You can track conversions, identify your best and worst pages, and uncover your biggest opportunities.
In addition, many of the other SEO tools available have the ability to access your Google Analytics data, tying that into ranking tracking, competitive reports, and other marketing reports and dashboards
5-Google AdWords Keyword Planner
As long as you have a Google AdWords account, you can access the Google AdWords Keyword Planner. The data you can get from Google AdWords is valuable enough that you should set up an AdWords account, even if you don’t plan on doing pay-per-click advertising. Although the Keyword Planner is specifically designed to help Google’s paid search customers, it can also be used to do keyword research for organic search.
The Google AdWords Keyword Planner gives you related terms, search volume, search trends, and ad cost estimates for any keyword. Note however, that the search volumes they give are approximations only as they keep exact keyword query data to themselves.
You can use the Keyword Planner to search based on words or phrases, based on a URL, or based on categories of keywords. The output from any of these searches will show you: Keyword (by relevance), Average Monthly Searches, Monthly Searches bar chart, and an estimate of competition levels.
There are also a number of settings you can use to refine your search: Include or Exclude search terms, Locations, Language, Search Networks, and Date Range.
The Keyword Planner can offer you suggestions for similar keywords, an estimate of the keyword’s popularity, ad costs and positions, general search volume trend information, and keyword campaign suggestions for your site or your competitor’s site. This tool is useful for gathering a large amount of data about a given keyword or group of keywords.
6-Soovle
Soovle is a free tool which allows you to type in a search query and displays related search terms in real time as you type. These keywords come from a variety of sources and are ordered by popularity. It’s a great tool to get a quick overview of keyword suggestions from multiple sources as it pulls in data from Wikipedia, Google, Amazon.com, Yahoo!, Bing, YouTube, and answers.com.
7-Ubersuggest
·         Ubersuggest is another free keyword research tool based on Google Suggest. When you enter your keyword, it runs a number of variations based on that term.
·         For example, if you were to enter the search term “cupcakes,” Ubersuggest would pull the suggestions for cupcakes + terms beginning with the letter “a,” cupcakes + terms beginning with the letter “b,” and so on. It also does this for the numbers 0 – 9.

Paid Tools
If you are running a small business or just starting out with SEO, free tools may be enough to get you started. As you grow, and particularly if you are in a very competitive market, the additional data and insights you can gain from paid tools may give you an edge over your competition.
(This all depends, of course, on how you’re using that data and how cost-effective a particular tool is for you. There are so many of these tools that you may need to be selective about which ones you use, so choose according to your own personal preferences and your business’ needs.)

I recommend some of the tools below. They are either broad enough in their application to offer customization to fit your individual needs in ways that free tools often can’t, or they offer special insights that the more common tools don’t. This list is hardly comprehensive, but it includes some of my most used or favorite tools.
1-Moz Analytics
Moz has a fantastic overall toolset for monitoring a wide variety of SEO metrics as well as tools for grading your SEO and analyzing a site’s back links.
On the SEO metrics side, you can use Moz to monitor your search traffic, keyword rankings, top landing pages, and more. You can also use it to monitor your social media attention, engagement, mentions of your brand.
For grading your SEO, the Moz toolset can assign each of your landing pages a grade and tell you where you may be falling short from a technical SEO perspective.
Where Moz shines, the brightest is in its Open Site Explorer platform. Not only is it excellent for analyzing your own back links from a trust and authority perspective, but it’s fantastic for analyzing competitor back links to look for opportunities. It will also analyze your anchor text and your top linked pages for issues or opportunities.
A Moz subscription is very cost-effective, starting at $99 per month.
2-Searchmetrics
Searchmetrics has a comprehensive suite offering tools for both technical SEO and content optimization. The SEO metrics and analysis are wide-ranging and include keyword research, rankings and URLs, optimizing on-page structure and content, evaluating links, tracking social engagement, and comparing domains on a project basis. In addition, the platform provides you with on-page analysis and recommendations, including site structure optimization.
Searchmetrics’ proprietary SEO Visibility metric combines search volume and keyword ranking to get a comprehensive look at how visible your brand is. The higher the visibility, the more people are seeing impressions of your site in search engine results pages or in social media. It’s an excellent metric for determining the efficacy of your SEO efforts in total and to compare yourself to the competition.
3-Traffic Insight
Which helps you to reconstruct “not provided” keywords and traffic data on a page-by-page basis. They do this by bringing together multiple data sources and processing them through their proprietary algorithm. This allows them to reverse engineer some of the “not provided” data.

Searchmetrics also offers competitive keyword research for both paid and organic traffic. You can analyze any domain and the software will return a list of competitors for both organic and paid search, including information on how many keywords the domain shares in common with its competition, how many keywords it does not have in common with competition, relative traffic data, and more.
4- Searchmetrics Essentials
Let’s you to quickly see how your competition is doing in organic search, paid search, and more. The keywords tab gives you search volume, cost per click, competition for keywords, and the average ad spend on a per-keyword basis. This can be more helpful and informative than simply using the Google Keyword Planner.
Searchmetrics Essentials also lets you analyze your competition’s social media campaigns. You can see which pages have the most likes, comments, and shares across all of the popular networks.
Searchmetrics is a “one-stop shop” of competitor research, backlink profiling, social media overviews, keyword research, and customized suggestions, and current opportunities based on upon the goals you’ve set and your current data. The Essentials suite comes at a budget-friendly $69/month.
5- Majestic
If you’re serious about link building and creating a solid, sustainable link portfolio, Majestic can give you fantastic information, some of which you can’t get from other sources. Referring domains, backlinks, new links, lost links, anchor text — you get a mountain of data that leaves little place for hidden surprises. It gives you a great starting point for launching a link building campaign, shows you where you are missing opportunities, and can tell you where your competitors are missing on opportunities that you can scoop up.
One thing I find particularly useful in Majestic that you are not going to find in other tools is the “Topics” tab. All other things being equal, a link from “just anywhere” isn’t going to provide you as much value as one from a site which is similar to yours. It looks more natural and relevant to Google when you acquire links from sites with content, which is similar or related to the content on your site. If you’re a design site, they expect you to be linked to by other designers, design magazines, etc. This helps to show you as a go-to source for information within your field.
“Topics” looks at how your backlinks are grouped into relevant categories.
One of my other favorite tools for Majestic is the “new” links report. In my experience, Majestic has one of the most up-to-date link indices. This can be useful for monitoring new sites linking to you so that you can watch for new opportunities to build relationships with those sites and authors and perhaps gain even more visibility in coverage going forward.
I also like to check this report on a regular basis to look for odd patterns in new links. I have detected more than one potential instance of negative SEO by using this report to find patterns of a sudden massive increase in low quality links over a sustained period.
Majestic’s Silver Quarterly plan offers 5 million downloadable backlinks for $49/mo, or 25 million for $169 for large-scale enterprises.
6- SEMrush
SEMrush offers an extremely comprehensive range of competitive analysis for both organic and paid traffic. You should be able to get the data it offers for your own site from other sources, but it’s in looking at your competitors where SEMrush provides the most value. With it, you can analyze a site’s organic traffic patterns, the keywords it ranks for, the keywords it bids on, estimate how much the site owners are spending on advertising, and analyze which keywords it has in common with its top competitors.
For your own site, this is also a great place to start if you are unsure who your top search competitors are. SEMrush is relatively inexpensive at approximately $80-$150 per month.
7- LinkResearchTools
LinkResearchTools is a fantastic toolset focused almost exclusively on link research. Whether you are looking to analyze your own back links, or perform back link analysis on your competitor, there’s almost no better link analysis platform out there. It has a huge range of functionality and measures more than 90 individual SEO/link metrics.
While it offers a huge selection of link research tools (as the name would obviously suggest), one of its most valuable tools in the age of Penguin penalties, spammers, poor link building, and even negative SEO is its Link Detox tool.
The Link Detox tool is my “go to” tool for analyzing the overall risk or spamminess of a site’s back link profile; it can also analyze and report on the risk level of each of those individual links. It can even export the list of questionable links you select to a solution to automate the outreach to clean up those links (like Pitch box) or create your Google link disavow file for you.
While it may seem to be a little bit pricier, starting at $129 per month, it’s well worth the investment to stay out of the Google link penalty box. Indeed, it is so valuable that many larger consultancies and agencies pay $649 per month or even as high as $1799 per month for memberships.
8- Keyword Discovery
Trellian’s Keyword Discovery is an extremely popular third-party tool for doing keyword research and is usually one of my first choices after Google’s AdWords Keyword Planner.
Keyword Discovery offers a wide variety of tools for doing keyword research. It also offers some great tools for doing competitive research. It really is a great one-stop destination for doing a variety of research.
As with many keyword research tools, which don’t get their data directly from the search engines themselves, you do have to take some of their data with a grain of salt.
Keyword Discovery’s most basic toolset is that for doing straightforward keyword research. When you enter a keyword, it will bring back the most popular search terms that include the terms you provided, along with an estimate of how many searches there were per month for those keywords over the past year.
Along with basic keyword research, KeywordDiscovery can provide you with reports on Seasonal Search Trends, Spelling Mistake Research, Related Keywords, Keyword Density Analysis, and the Domain Researcher Tool.
Trellian, which powers KeywordDiscovery, also offers Competitive Intelligence reports. These reports include Link Intelligence, Search Term Intelligence, Search Engine Intelligence, PPC Campaign Intelligence, Referrer Intelligence, Popularity Index Report, Ranking Report, and the Competitive Intelligence Executive Report.
KeywordDiscovery also offers a limited free version. When you enter a keyword or phrase, you’ll see a list containing both the keyword or phrase and related keywords, along with their estimated search count per month (averaged over the past year). The data available in this tool will be much more limited than that offered in the paid tool.
KeywordDiscovery offers a variety of subscription options that range from a standard monthly subscription for $69.95 to a yearly enterprise subscription for several thousand dollars. Competitive Intelligence Reports range from $99.95 per month per domain (plus a $150 setup fee) to $995 per year per domain.
9- Pitchbox
I’ve mentioned Pitchbox previously as one of my favorite tools for scaling your link building, but it’s such a time saver that it’s worth mentioning again.
Pitchbox helps you build a list of outreach prospects based on keywords, or even on your own custom lists or on your competitors’ backlinks. Not only does it find and grade opportunities based on just about every link metric out there, it helps create, send, and manage your email outreach to the prospects you wish to contact and reports on which stage you are at with each of them.
It can also, if you wish, integrate with LinkResearchTools to import the list of sites you want to outreach to for link removal and manage that process as well, and even generate a Link Disavow request for Google — complete with notes in the disavow file specific to each of the sites you have outreached to, and the outcome. (Disclosure: I am an advisor to Pitchbox.)
Pitchbox ranges from $49 per month and up depending on the subscription level.
10- Voot
If you’ve been doing online marketing and SEO for a while, you are probably already using a ranking tracker like Authority Labs or Moz to track your Google and Bing rankings. But what about your YouTube search rankings?
YouTube is one of the largest search engines after all, so why wouldn’t you track the YouTube SERPs? The traditional SEO ranking trackers don’t include YouTube, but now there’s Voot. While it is currently in beta,
Voot will allow you to track search rankings, views, and other engagement metrics in ways that no other readily available tool can do.

At the end

As I stated at the outset, there are literally hundreds of SEO tools and tool sets to choose from. What I have tried to give you here is an overview of some of the tools I use most frequently, the ones which save me the most amount of time, and/or give me insights unavailable through other sources. Ultimately, you will have to decide which tools give you the best return on your investments of both money and time. Although these tools can give you incredible insights, it’s still up to you to take those insights and turn them into actions to improve your organic traffic.. I hope you enjoyed the topic.

Forget CTR. Build an AdWords Campaign To Convert

 Unknown     SEO     No comments

This is a follow-up on the Google AdWords tutorials that we have been publishing on our blog.
At the end

With this recent article, I intend to clear up some confusion surrounding the concepts around building successful AdWords campaigns. Has your marketing agency or marketing person touted how great your click through rate is and discounted the fact that you still don’t have conversions? I know CTR can be misleading and it’s easy to get excited when you see a high CTR, but this number only shows how popular the ads are to the people seeing them.

At the end of the day, regardless of what size your company is, it needs conversions to stay alive. While it’s true that I can’t guarantee sales, I can definitely stack the deck and get you in front of the people searching for your product or service. Many people build campaigns backwards and quite candidly, I did as well when I started out. I emphasized the keyword list. I know better now. The keyword list is merely the minimum list of terms which you want to be found for. Create the campaign with the headline using 2-3 terms that describe your product or service. This is the theme of the ad. The 2 description lines should naturally, you guessed it, describe the headline. The keywords used in the headline should be broad match modified (BMM) to assure that these terms searched will trigger your ad. Once the campaign has been running for about a week, you can  start optimizing by looking at the detail view of the keyword tab. This shows the terms that people are using to trigger your ads. If terms start showing up multiple times, you know that these terms should be used for either an existing or new ad group.

Here are some other guidelines to follow to assure your campaign is built as well as it can be to set it up for success:

1-Correct Geo Target
  • The larger the Geo Area the greater the competition. More competition leads to a higher CPC (Cost Per Click)!
  • People outside an Advertisers Geo Area will see their Ads if they are looking in the Geo Area. People inside the area do not need to include a Geo Reference to see the Ads.
  • If using “Radius Targeting,” it must be done in the interface, not editor.
  • Refrain from going smaller than a 5 Miles Radius, unless in a LARGE metro area.
  • I’ve found that targeting by a State’s County is generally not that effective as city or zip code.
  • Do not set to a Country that does not read the languages the Campaign is set to.
2-Ad Scheduling
  • Set to times Advertiser is available to answer a call if a desired conversion is a telephone call.
  • Most businesses should have ads scheduled to start when their business opens.
  • Scheduling is set for only when Advertiser confirms conversion can take place.
  • Naturally, E-Commerce is 24 hours, where a ‘brick and mortar’ shop may only do business during the hours of 8am to 5pm. So of course if it’s an online business or conversions can take place 24-7 then by all means, schedule the campaign 24 hours a day. Once you see when the bulk of your conversions take place, adjust the scheduling to run during those times.
3-Delivery Method
  • Set ads to accelerated delivery to get as much data as possible for the budget.
4-AD Rotation
  • Rotate evenly, Show ads more evenly for at least 90 days, then optimize. This will clearly present which ads the Public likes the most. Then optimize accordingly. If you allow the algorithm to rotate for more clicks from the start then the “results” are artificial.
5-Ad Extensions/Phone Extensions/Site links/Review Extensions
  • Set Local Merchants should have “Google My Business” page and it should be linked to Location Extensions. This will provide the opportunity to show the location along with the ads when it is in the top 3 spots of the search engine results page (SERP).
  • Set Call Extension if the company has a phone number regardless if telephone call is a conversion. Make sure to use the Google forwarding number so it can be tracked! Set up a conversion for calls from the website as well.
  • Google Forwarding is sold by stating that if the public calls from the Ad without ‘clicking’ on it’ there is no cost per click. Note: if they do “Click to Call” on a mobile, then the standard CPC is applied. Either way the number is not made memorable.
  • Site Links where possible. These are extra links for other pages on your website. (Makes Ads larger than standard, offers Cross-Selling, )

6-Ad Groups -Keywords / Targeting
By Search
  • All Keywords in an Ad Group have common theme and are in ad text as mentioned earlier.
  • While I strongly recommend daily budgets of $100 or more, budgets below $25 should start with two Ad Groups.
  • Budgets above $25 get at least three Ad Groups *unless the set Max CPC is being set for more than $10 per click.
  • If a suggested Ad Group has a Keyword List with sufficient volume to produce more than 3 Ads, you have enough for two Ad Groups. Create them!
  • Minimum of 4-6 Keywords per Ad Group.
  • 1 click per keyword per day! All Keywords used MUST show for Traffic Volume on the Google Keyword Placement Tool. If volume can’t be found for any Keywords, refer the Advertiser to the Display System because Search Only campaigns will not work without traffic!
  • If traffic cannot be found for an Advertiser’s required Keyword, then you probably shouldn’t use it. I shouldn’t have to explain why.
  • No duplicated Keywords regardless of order or Match Type. They will compete against each other and raise your CPC. This is unless of course they are in different geo targeted areas.
  • Keywords addressing conversions are favored over static or research keywords.
i.e. [24hr plumbing repair] over [cost of plumbing repair] or [how to repair plumbing leak]. That should be another obvious one but I still run across people going too broad or using non-sales or purchasing phrases and then wonder why the campaign isn’t converting (assuming the website has a compelling copy to close the deal).
  • When possible, use extensive negatives to limit irrelevant search traffic due to broad match.
  • When possible, use Modified Keywords to limit “Broad Base Match Out” relevance. That is using a plus sign in front of the words you want to trigger your ads.
By Display
  • Stay away from Search & Display Select.
  • The cost is typically 30% less than Search campaigns.
  • Budgets below $50 start with Three Ad Groups.
  • Budgets above $50, you will build to relevancy to Customer’s Audience & Goals.
  • Select targeting methods; Keyword, Topic, Interest, Demographics to show Ads where the Advertisers customers would visit.
  • No two Ad Groups are set to the same target method. One Ad Group for Topics, etc.
  • Clearly Name the Ad Group to clearly indicate method of Targeting.
Negative Keywords

  • Must have no Keyword conflict with advertising Keywords.
  • Use any additional negative Keywords that are client specific or offered by advertiser.
